Synergy is where different entities cooperate advantageously for a final outcome. When it comes to our lives and our health I see no other way to live than to live in Synergy. We are not well unless we are well in mind, body and spirit. Our body can not function to it's potential if our mind is letting us down, our mind will not work to it's best if we are not feeding our soul the right material... So on and so on.
In my experience I have seen many people try to get right in only one area of life... Spending a life time trying to lose weight, day in and day out trying to make that million dollars.. Whatever it may be.. InSynergy is about a balanced approach to a happier, healthier life.
Really, my health philosophy is surprisingly simple. I follow a diet based on an understanding of evolutionary science. I think it's more important to eat, move, and live according to how humans are designed and not according to society's artificial developments of the last 100 years. Fortunately, this regimen is not only incredibly healthy, it's quite simple.
I was the kid that wagged PE, and made excuses as to why I couldn't do the cross country. I'd have been the first person to tell you running isn't natural. I had an excuse for everything! When I was 16 I was put on anti depressants that made me stack on a lot of weight. Prior to this I had one method of losing weight.. Simple, don't eat. I went from a size 8-10 to a 14 in a year. Unfortunately the year I was getting married too.
Finally I snapped and realised I couldn't take those tablets anymore. So began a life long effort to manage my emotions myself. A diagnosed Bi Polar "sufferer" I decided only I was capable of determining the future for myself. Unfortunately at that time I only had a grasp on the mental health side of my life and when full term pregnant with my daughter I weighed in at 100kg. I had doubled in weight since my husband had met me.
I used practical, calorie counting methods to get the weight off and got back to a place I was happy.. But still I had very little activity in my life. After having my son I was incredibly despondent at the idea of going back to counting everything I ate and internally refused to do it. There has to be a better way, I thought! This led to my decision to start personal training as a career. I studied through NetFit so that I could be at home with my kids and do it in my own time.
After having my kids I also worked as Weight Watchers coach and through those meetings met many women who were spending their lives striving in just one area, and not thinking about the whole picture. I wasn't going to do that any more.
Then inSynergy came to me.. A combination of my studies in Psychology and Fitness as well as my love for healthy cooking led to a merge of the three and hopefully a lifeline for those struggling to find some balance in who they are.
